ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

 The Hot and Steamy Festival idea was conceived in 2019 and landed in 2020. 

• It’s proudly queer and it’s here, as it aligns with Sydney Mardi Gras which attracts an audience of over 400,000 people locally, inter-state and internationally. 
• It’s definitely a significant date on the Pride calendar, and the Hot and Steamy Festival is an inclusive event in the lead up to Sydney's annual event.
• With this year’s Sydney WorldPride 2023 celebrations, Hot and Steamy Festival sets the scene by showcasing a gem in the crown of one of Australia’s most beautiful destinations. 
• An LGBTQI+ community festival where all are welcome, this festival is set across 4 days within some of Port Douglas most iconic restaurants and spaces. 
• Being on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest, Hot and Steamy Festival is the draw card that invites people in to experience the region, while sprinkling some sparkle into the local green season.
• With the incredible support of TEQ, TPDD, the Douglas Shire Council and people in our local community, we’re looking to grow our LGBTQI+ experience year on year..

• Welcome Get Lei'd Luau @ Zinc Restaurant on Thursday 16th
• Taste In The Tropics (TITT) long lunch @ Salsa on Friday 17th
• White Party @ Sugar Wharf on Friday 17th
• Trip to the Low Isles (Great Barrier Reef) on Saturday 18th
• Sunset Cocktail Party @ The Tin Shed on Saturday 18th 
• La Cage Aux Douglas @ The Clink Theatre on Saturday 18th
• Main Festival Party @ The Central Hotel on Saturday 18th
• Soaked Pool Party @ Niramaya on Sunday 19th.

Sydney World Pride will be held the weekend following Hot & Steamy and we hope to be welcoming LGBTQI+ guests from across the globe!!
